Belmopan set to see groundbreaking for Saudi-Funded Hospital by year’s end

Belmopan set to see groundbreaking for Saudi-Funded Hospital by year’s end

By Belize Live News Staff: The long-anticipated Saudi-funded hospital project for the Belmopan area may soon move from planning to construction, with officials eyeing a groundbreaking before the end of 2025.

Minister of Health and Wellness, Kevin Bernard, confirmed that the Ministry of Economic Development, in collaboration with his ministry, has been advancing the project’s design phase. According to Bernard, the design work is expected to be finalized and approved within the coming months.

“They have set a deadline for either September or October,” Bernard explained. “Once that’s done, we should be ready to start construction. My hope is that we can truly break ground before this year comes to a close.”

The facility, planned for an area just outside Belmopan, is being financed through Saudi funding and is expected to significantly boost healthcare services for residents in the capital and surrounding communities.
