Sunny and warm day ahead, thunderstorm chances increase by tomorrow

Sunday weather in Belize: Fair skies and warm sunshine expected

By Belize Live News Staff: Mainly fair weather will continue to dominate conditions across Belize today, but forecasters are warning of an increase in shower activity tonight and into Wednesday. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with occasional cloudy spells during the day, becoming partly cloudy tonight. Showers will be mostly isolated, with slightly more activity expected over northern areas and along the coast tonight.

Winds will blow from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots, producing light chop on the sea and wave heights between 2 and 4 feet. Temperatures remain warm, with coastal highs near 88°F (31°C) and lows of 82°F (28°C). Inland areas will be hotter, reaching 94°F (34°C) by day and cooling to 74°F (23°C) at night. The hills will be more moderate, with highs of 83°F (29°C) and lows of 70°F (21°C).

In the tropical weather outlook, Tropical Storm Erin was located at 3:00 a.m. near latitude 17.4N, longitude 34.3W, about 690 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. The storm poses no threat to Belize at this time. Looking ahead, Wednesday and Wednesday night will see partly cloudy skies with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly affecting northern and central parts of the country.

Today’s tides feature a low at 5:56 a.m., a high at 12:00 p.m., another low at 6:26 p.m., and a high at 12:23 a.m. tomorrow. Sunrise was at 5:34 a.m., sunset will be at 6:20 p.m., the moon set at 8:36 a.m., and moonrise will be at 8:51 p.m.
