By Belize Live News Staff: A 64-year-old construction worker from the Cayo District is in critical condition after a brutal attack left him with severe head and body injuries.
Rafael Balona was found unconscious on Sunday night and rushed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital before being transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City for emergency surgery. He remains in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Balona’s family believes he was attacked on his way home and is urging anyone with information to contact the police. They are also appealing for blood donations to aid in his recovery.
