Over 34,000 attend successful 2025 National Agriculture and Trade Show

By Belize Live News Staff: This year’s National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS), held on May 30, 31, and June 1 under the theme “Integrating Sustainable Food Systems: Mitigating Climate Change, Strengthening Agricultural Resilience”, saw overwhelming support with over 34,000 attendees, despite soaring temperatures over the weekend.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise expressed gratitude to visitors, vendors, exhibitors, sponsors, and security personnel for their role in making the event a resounding success. Special recognition was extended to the Farmers of the Year, winners of the School Gardening Competitions, and the Cooperatives of the Year.

The event proceeded without any major incidents, thanks in part to the coordination of police and security officials. Minister of Agriculture Jose Abelardo Mai praised the dedication of the ministry’s staff and the organizing committee for pulling off another successful year.

The Ministry also addressed the postponement of the raffle for the 2025 Ford Ranger pickup, stating that the minimum number of ticket sales had not been met by the draw date. The draw has now been rescheduled for July 11, 2025, and all previously purchased tickets remain valid.
