By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect a wet Sunday as showers and thunderstorms spread across much of the country, bringing mostly cloudy skies and unsettled weather.
The National Meteorological Service says rainfall will begin mainly over coastal and offshore areas before spreading across most parts of Belize during the day.
A few thunderstorms are also expected as moist conditions continue to affect the country.
Showers and thunderstorms should gradually decrease tonight, although southern communities could experience additional rainfall and isolated thunderstorms.
Temperatures will reach 87 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 91 degrees inland and 80 degrees in the hills.
Marine conditions will range from a light chop to rough seas, with waves between two and seven feet. Easterly winds will blow at five to 15 knots.
Boat operators are being advised to exercise caution, particularly in areas experiencing showers and thunderstorms.
Looking ahead to Monday, skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with generally isolated showers and thunderstorms.
A slight increase in rainfall activity is expected mainly along coastal areas Monday night.
