By Belize Live News Staff: A woman out for an evening jog in San Pedro says she was grabbed from behind by a stranger who tried to knock her down.
The 42 year old told police the attack happened around 5:30pm on Sunday as she jogged home heading south. She said the man groped her and tried to push her to the ground, but she did not fall.
The woman was able to get a good look at her attacker. Police are searching for a fair skinned, slim man about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with straight light brown hair and brown eyes.
The incident was reported to police on Tuesday, and a statement has been recorded. The suspect remains unknown.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Pedro Police or Crime Stoppers at 922.
Residents, especially women who walk or jog alone, are encouraged to stay alert and travel in pairs when possible.
