By Belize Live News Staff: After more than a week working in Belize City, an Orange Walk man came home to find his house broken into and his belongings gone.
The 28 year old construction worker reported to police that he had secured his pink concrete bungalow on English Caye Street before leaving on September 23, even screwing the front door shut.
On October 3, he found the screws removed and his home ransacked.
Among the stolen items were a Lasko fan, a $300 bucket of Sherwin Williams paint, six bed sheets, a crock pot, a gas tank and dishes.
The man told police he believes his older brother is responsible, saying it has happened before. He claims his brother admitted to the theft when confronted.
Police have detained a 34 year old laborer, and the matter is under investigation.
