By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Office of the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children says Belize can defend its interests while continuing to engage with its neighbours.
In a statement on Rossana Briceño’s participation in a regional meeting of First Ladies and First Gentlemen in Antigua, Guatemala, the office said her involvement shows Belize can stand firm on national matters while taking part in dialogue.
The office noted that Belizean officials have long participated in regional and international forums as part of the country’s commitment to cooperation and constructive engagement.
It argued that such platforms allow Belize to advocate for its national interests while maintaining strong relationships with regional partners.
“It is precisely during such moments that our presence matters most,” the statement said.
The office added that it remains committed to promoting the wellbeing of Belizean families and children while representing Belize with dignity, confidence and pride at home and abroad.
The trip had drawn questions from the Opposition over its timing.
