By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Orange Walk say a search of a San Jose Village home turned up suspected cannabis hidden on top of a verandah roof.
The search was carried out Friday evening by the Quick Response Team and Special Branch personnel acting on a warrant for illegal drugs.
Officers read the warrant to a 40 year old domestic, who was home with her 17 year old son, a student. A search inside the house found nothing, police say.
Officers then turned to the verandah, where they allegedly found a clear plastic bag of green leafy substance on top of the zinc.
Mother and son were arrested, cautioned and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station, where the suspected cannabis was weighed and sealed in their presence.
