By Belize Live News Staff: Orange Walk police have charged Oscar Alberto Rodriguez, 38, following a stop and search in Barrio Pobre Alley on Friday.
Police say officers on operations saw Rodriguez holding a plastic bag of groceries and stopped to search him for drugs.
Officers reportedly found three pieces of a white substance suspected to be crack cocaine in his cargo pocket, two of them wrapped in foil.
Rodriguez, a construction worker of San Jose Village, was taken to the Orange Walk Police Station, where the drugs were weighed at 0.4 grams gross weight.
He was charged with one count of possession of controlled drugs and chose to remain silent when cautioned.
