By Belize Live News Staff: A Benque Viejo resident has reported the theft of his cellphone after a visitor allegedly left his home with the device.
Police say the incident happened on Sunday night at a residence on Providence Street.
The complainant told investigators that a man he had known for many years visited and sat with him on the verandah.
He later got up and went to the bathroom, leaving his black Alcatel cellphone behind on a chair.
When he returned, the phone was reportedly missing.
The device is valued at approximately $100.
The complainant named a person known to him in connection with the report and asked police to pursue court action.
The matter is under investigation.
