By Belize Live News Staff: Police in San Pedro made another major drug discovery on Wednesday after receiving information about a possible stash in the San Pablo area.

Officers proceeded to an abandoned lot and carried out a search of the area at around 5:30 p.m.

While checking garbage near a tree, police reportedly found a black crate containing a white sack.

Further checks led to the discovery of a green plastic bag containing three separate transparent bags with a hard white substance believed to be crack cocaine.

No one was nearby when the suspected drugs were recovered.

The bags were taken to the San Pedro Police Station, where the contents were weighed.

Police reported a total weight of 900 grams.

The suspected crack cocaine was packaged, sealed and handed over as found property.

Investigations into the discovery are expected to continue.
