By Belize Live News Staff: Police in San Pedro made a separate drug discovery later on Wednesday after receiving information while on patrol.
Officers searched an abandoned building located about four miles north of San Pedro Town, where they reportedly found a transparent plastic bag hidden inside a sewage tank.
Police say the bag contained a white substance suspected to be crack cocaine.
No one was in the area when the discovery was made.
The suspected drugs were taken to the San Pedro Police Station and weighed, recording a total of 58 grams.
The substance was then packaged, sealed and labelled before being handed over as found property.
Police have not reported any arrests in connection with the find.
