Preliminary reports indicate that the collision involved an 18 wheeler reportedly loaded with sand and gravel.
Information from the scene indicates that at least one person was trapped following the crash. The heavy truck reportedly came to rest on top of another vehicle or person.
Emergency personnel are at the scene responding to the incident.
The accident occurred along the highway near Armenia in the Palenque area, south of Belmopan.
