Carnival morning ends in death on Pickstock Street

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City woke to Carnival day with a killing on Pickstock Street.

Clive Hendricks, 45, was stabbed around 3:30am, reportedly with a pint bottle, during what police describe as a physical altercation with his common law wife.

Officers were already on patrol nearby and reached him within moments. They found him in the middle of the street, bleeding heavily from his right arm.

The wound is believed to have ruptured an artery.

They got him to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, but he did not survive.

Neighbours told police the two had been arguing from earlier in the night, and that alcohol was involved.

The woman left the scene before police arrived and is being sought.

A domestic argument, a bottle, and a man dead before sunrise on what should have been a day of celebration.

Investigations continue.
