By Belize Live News Staff: This is one of the hottest days Belize has seen in a while.
The National Meteorological Service is forecasting 98 degrees Fahrenheit inland this afternoon, with the coast at 90 and the hills at 84.
Skies stay mostly sunny with any showers or thunderstorms staying isolated, developing mainly inland during the afternoon heat. Tonight turns partly cloudy, with the south seeing the best chance of rain.
If you are working outside today, take breaks and drink more water than you think you need. Heat at this level is not something to push through.
On the water, conditions stay calm with winds at 5 to 15 knots and waves of 1 to 3 feet.
Friday brings more of the same.
No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the region during the next 48 hours.
Find some shade this afternoon.
How are you handling the heat today?
