Tropical Storm Dolly weakens as Belize enjoys a fair weekend

By Belize Live News Staff: Tropical Storm Dolly is no more.

The National Meteorological Service says the system has weakened into a tropical wave, now located several hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands. Redevelopment is unlikely as it moves west at around 25 miles per hour.

That leaves Belize with a clean weekend forecast.

Today brings sunshine with a few cloudy spells and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers stay isolated, though the extreme south has a medium chance of seeing a few more late tonight.

It stays hot. Inland areas reach 95 degrees Fahrenheit, the coast hits 89 and the hills stay at 82.

The water is easy, with light winds at 5 to 15 knots and waves of 2 to 4 feet, making it a good weekend to be out on a boat.

Sunday looks the same.

We are still in the thick of hurricane season though, so keep an eye on the updates.

What are your plans this weekend?
