By Belize Live News Staff: An armed robbery in Independence Village on Saturday afternoon came apart faster than most.
Police say two men barged into a shop on Big Creek Road around 2:30pm. One drew a 9mm pistol and demanded cash. The other grabbed the cash register pan and its contents.
They left in an SUV heading toward Belize City.
But when officers reached the scene, they found something on the floor that made the next part easier. A wallet, containing a social security card and other items, belonging to one of the men.
Information moved quickly from there. G13 personnel were alerted and managed to stop and detain both suspects at the junction of George Town Village, still carrying an undisclosed amount of money.
Both are in custody and police are continuing their investigation.
Fast police work, or a very bad day for the robbers?
