Bartenders in Cayo can level up with new four week course

By Belize Live News Staff: Bartenders looking to move up in Belize’s hospitality industry have a new option this September.

The Cayo Centre for Employment Training is running an Advanced Bartending Level 3 course beginning September 28, 2026, aimed at working bartenders who already have experience behind the bar.

The programme is built around practical work. Over 100 contact hours across four weeks, participants take theory and practical sessions, go on educational trips, and compete in a bartending competition. Industry professionals will taste, evaluate, and grade the drinks participants prepare.

Two shifts are available, 8am to 12pm or 4pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday at the Cayo CET campus, which allows students to keep working while they train.

Entry requires two or more years of bartending experience, or a Tourism Hospitality Management Level 2 certificate.

The course costs $800 in total, with all materials provided. Graduates receive a Cayo CET Level 3 certificate.

To register, call 611-2944 or 824-2944, or email info@cayocet.bz.
