Parents, the countdown is on: one last hilltop weekend before school reopens

Parents, the countdown is on: one last hilltop weekend before school reopens

By Belize Live News Staff: Look at the calendar and feel it: September is coming, and with it the uniforms, the lunch kits, the 6:00 a.m. scramble. Which means August has one job, and Cahal Pech Village Resort in San Ignacio is volunteering to host it.

Picture the last-hurrah weekend properly. The kids discover the pools by 9:00 a.m. and are not seen at close range again until hunger strikes. You claim a lounger with a view over the whole of San Ignacio and remember what quiet sounds like. Cocktails appear at the bar around sunset. Dinner is cooked by somebody else, the beds are made by somebody else, and tomorrow the whole beautiful loop repeats.

Want one more memory for the back-to-school essays? The ancient Maya site of Cahal Pech is right next door, and Xunantunich and the caves are a short run away, the kind of day trips children write about in September.

The math is simple: fifty-plus weekends a year belong to routine. This one does not have to.

Call 824-3740, WhatsApp 671-5737, or book at www.cahalpech.com.

Tag the parent who has been promising the kids one more trip all summer. Time to deliver.
