By Belize Live News Staff: It is set to be a wet and cloudy one across Belize, as an approaching tropical wave ushers in moist and unstable conditions, bringing showers and storms along the way.
The National Meteorological Service reports that skies will be cloudy at times both today and tonight. During the day, a few showers, periods of moderate rain, and isolated thunderstorms are expected to continue around the country, particularly over southern and northern inland areas. Come nightfall, a few showers and isolated thunderstorms will likely affect mostly southern and some coastal parts of the country.
It will stay warm despite the clouds. Inland areas will see the highest temperatures, reaching 92 degrees Fahrenheit (33 Celsius) before dipping to 74 (23 Celsius). Along the coast, highs will hit 87 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) with a low of 80 (27 Celsius), while the hills stay cooler, topping out at 79 degrees Fahrenheit (26 Celsius) and falling to 67 (19 Celsius).
Out on the water, easterly winds will blow at 10 to 20 knots, with moderate seas and waves of 4 to 6 feet.
There is good news on the tropical side. Even with the tropical wave moving through, no tropical cyclone formation is expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours.
The outlook for Wednesday and Wednesday night calls for cloudy skies at times, with showers or thunderstorms staying generally isolated, though a few more are expected mostly over the south.
