By Belize Live News Staff: A search of a vacant lot in the Orange Walk District has turned up a stash of suspected crack cocaine, which police have taken into their possession as found property.
The Belize Police Department reports that on Friday, July 3, 2026, at about 7:30 a.m., officers searched an empty lot in Carmelita Village. During the exercise, police said they came across a transparent plastic bag containing a small brick of a substance believed to be crack cocaine, hidden among some bushes.
As no one was in the vicinity, the suspected drugs were transported to the Orange Walk Police Station and logged as found property.
Once at the station, the suspected crack cocaine was weighed at 11.75 grams before being sealed, labelled, and handed over to the exhibit keeper for safekeeping.
Police did not report any arrests in relation to the find, and the matter is being looked into.
