Police hunt for man after woman says partner attacked her

By Belize Live News Staff: A domestic assault report is being investigated by police in the Orange Walk District, after a woman came forward to make a complaint.

The Belize Police Department reports that the 28-year-old woman, a housewife of San Pablo Village, went to the Trial Farm Police Sub Station to report the matter. She said that on Friday, July 3, 2026, she was assaulted by her common law partner.

According to the complainant, she was struck about the face during the incident, sustaining pain, swelling, and bruising as a result.

Police recorded a statement and issued medico-legal forms, with the woman’s injuries certified as “harm” by a doctor.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have identified a man they wish to speak with regarding the report. No one has been charged at this stage.
