By Belize Live News Staff: Get ready for a hot and sunny one, but keep an umbrella handy for the days ahead, as Belize is set to enjoy fair weather today before conditions turn wetter over the weekend.
The National Meteorological Service reports that mainly fair and warm conditions will prevail today, with sunny skies, a few cloudy spells, and only isolated shower activity. Skies will become partly cloudy overnight.
It will be a hot one, particularly inland, where temperatures are expected to peak at 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) before dipping to 74 (23 Celsius). Along the coast, highs will reach 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) with a low of 82 (28 Celsius), while the hills stay more comfortable, topping out at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and falling to 68 (20 Celsius).
Out on the water, easterly winds will blow at 10 to 20 knots, with light chop and waves of 2 to 4 feet.
There is reassuring news on the tropical side, with no tropical cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours.
The bigger change comes on Sunday, when skies will be cloudy at times with isolated showers in the morning. Activity is then expected to gradually increase, along with thunderstorms, mainly over southern and central areas, during Sunday afternoon and into the night.
