By Belize Live News Staff: A sexual assault report has prompted a police investigation in the Orange Walk District, after a woman came forward to make a complaint against a colleague.
The Belize Police Department reports that the 35-year-old woman, of Carmelita Village, went to the Orange Walk Police Station to report the incident. She stated that on Sunday, June 21, 2026, she had been doing promotional work for a company in San Estevan Village together with a male co-worker.
According to the woman, the alleged assault occurred later that day while she was a passenger in a company vehicle travelling between San Estevan Village and the company’s main office in Carmelita Village. She reported that the co-worker, seated next to her, assaulted her during the journey.
After recording her statement, police continued their inquiries. A witness was located but declined to provide a statement. The investigation is ongoing, and police have identified a man they wish to speak with regarding the matter.
