By Belize Live News Staff: It is shaping up to be a lovely day across Belize, with sunshine leading the way and only the slimmest chance of a passing shower.
The National Meteorological Service reports that mainly fair and warm weather will prevail. Expect mostly sunny skies today and partly cloudy conditions overnight, with any showers or thunderstorms remaining isolated.
It will be a warm one, especially inland, where temperatures are set to peak at 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) before dipping to 75 (24 Celsius). Along the coast, highs will reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) with a low of 82 (28 Celsius), while the hills stay more comfortable, topping out at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and falling to 68 (20 Celsius).
While the skies look friendly, the sea is another story. Easterly winds will blow at 10 to 20 knots and turn gusty, with moderate to rough seas and waves of 5 to 7 feet. A small craft caution has been issued, and operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution amid the gusty winds and occasionally rough seas.
There is reassuring news on the tropical side, with no tropical cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours.
The outlook for Sunday and Sunday night calls for more of the same, with mainly fair and warm conditions and only isolated showers or thunderstorms developing.
As for the tides, high tides today fall at 7:41 AM and 9:41 PM, with low tides at 3:29 PM and 2:08 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:20 AM and sets this evening at 6:31 PM. This forecast was prepared by forecaster Derrick Rudon.
