By Belize Live News Staff: Make the most of the sunshine early, because Belize is in for a wetter and more unstable spell of weather as the day turns into night.
The National Meteorological Service reports that conditions will become more moist and unstable later tonight and into tomorrow. For now, expect sunny skies with cloudy spells today, turning cloudy at times overnight. Any showers or thunderstorms will be generally isolated during the day, but shower activity is set to increase tonight, mainly across southern and some coastal parts of the country.
It will stay warm across the board. Inland areas will see the highest readings, reaching 92 degrees Fahrenheit (33 Celsius) before dropping to 74 (23 Celsius). Along the coast, highs will hit 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) with a low of 80 (27 Celsius), while the hills stay more comfortable, topping out at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and falling to 68 (20 Celsius).
Out on the water, winds will blow from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots, with seas ranging from light chop to choppy and waves of 2 to 5 feet.
There is reassuring news on the tropical side, with no tropical cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours.
The outlook for Friday and Friday night calls for mostly cloudy skies, with a few showers and thunderstorms likely around the country, particularly over central and southern areas on Friday. The rain is then expected to ease late Friday night.
As for the tides, high tides today fall at 6:15 AM and 8:16 PM, with low tides at 2:00 PM and 12:41 AM tomorrow. The sun sets at 6:30 PM this evening and rises again at 5:20 AM tomorrow. This forecast was prepared by forecaster Tareek Matthews.
