By Belize Live News Staff: Belize enjoys a rare stretch of calm weather as hurricane season slowly awakens
While much of the Atlantic basin is beginning to show signs of tropical activity, Belize is enjoying something that has been in short supply recently: a stretch of calm, dry weather.
The latest forecast calls for sunny skies, warm temperatures, and only isolated showers across the country, continuing a pattern that has provided a welcome break from the heavy rains and flooding concerns seen earlier this month.
For many Belizeans, especially those in agriculture, construction, tourism, and transportation, the dry weather comes at the perfect time.
Farmers have been able to return to fields that were saturated by recent rainfall, while tourism operators are welcoming favorable conditions as visitors continue exploring Belize’s islands, reefs, jungles, and archaeological sites.
The forecast predicts temperatures climbing as high as 96 degrees Fahrenheit inland, making Wednesday one of the warmer days of the week. Coastal communities will remain slightly cooler thanks to easterly winds moving across the country.
At the same time, meteorologists are keeping an eye on Potential Tropical Cyclone One near the Texas coast. While the system poses absolutely no threat to Belize, it serves as a reminder that hurricane season is gradually becoming more active.
The contrast is striking. While communities along parts of the United States Gulf Coast are preparing for heavy rain, gusty winds, and possible tropical storm conditions, Belize is expected to remain under fair and mostly dry weather through at least Thursday.
Weather experts caution that conditions can change quickly during hurricane season, but for now, Belizeans can take advantage of the sunshine and calmer conditions.
Whether it’s farmers catching up on work, families planning outdoor activities, or businesses benefiting from favorable weather, the current forecast offers something many Belizeans appreciate after weeks of unsettled conditions: a chance to enjoy a little normalcy under blue skies.
