By Belize Live News Staff: After several days of active weather, conditions across Belize are expected to slowly improve today, though residents in some areas should still keep an umbrella close by.
The latest forecast calls for mostly cloudy to overcast skies this morning, accompanied by periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Southern and central districts are expected to receive the greatest amount of rainfall before conditions begin easing later in the day.
Meteorologists say activity will gradually become isolated by the afternoon, bringing more sunshine and fewer interruptions from rain. However, a chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue overnight, especially across southern Belize.
There is some good news for residents watching the tropics. The National Meteorological Service reports that tropical cyclone development is not expected anywhere in the region during the next 48 hours.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, forecasters are predicting partly cloudy skies with isolated showers and a low chance of thunderstorms, although southern Belize could again see increased rainfall during the nighttime hours.
