Hit-and-run leaves 50-year-old man injured in Orange Walk

By Belize Live News Staff: Orange Walk Town, Belize — Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a 50-year-old man injured Saturday night along the Belize–Corozal Road.

Around 9:15 p.m. on February 28, 2026, authorities responded to reports of a traffic accident in front of Dickerson Store. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a white pickup truck, license plate unknown, knocked down a pedestrian and continued driving without stopping.

The vehicle was reportedly traveling from Orange Walk Town toward Carmelita Village.

Police later visited the Northern Regional Hospital, where the injured man, a resident of Chan Pine Ridge Village, was observed with injuries to the forehead. Doctors have described his condition as stable and indicated that X-rays will be conducted as part of ongoing monitoring.

Police are seeking the driver of the white pickup as investigations continue.
