By Belize Live News Staff: Orange Walk District, Belize — A 34-year-old man from Corozal Town has died following a road traffic accident along the Philip Goldson Highway.
Police responded Friday afternoon to miles 61 and 62, where they found a white 2015 Nissan Rogue overturned in a roadside ditch while traveling toward San Jose Village.
Investigations indicate the driver lost control after overtaking another vehicle. Firefighters found him unconscious inside the vehicle, which had flipped and was partially submerged in water.
He was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival at 4:11 p.m.
The body awaits a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
