Police patrol vehicle crashes into ditch on Kiski Street

By Belize Live News Staff: A police vehicle assigned to the Trial Farm Police Substation ended up in a ditch early Sunday morning on Kiski Street.

Authorities say the red Ford Ranger was discovered around 6:00 a.m. partially inside a drain.

The driver, PC Flores, reported that the steering wheel locked while he was driving, causing the vehicle to swerve into the ditch.

The officer complained of shoulder, head and chest pain. His passenger, Akeem Aviles, sustained a cut above his right eye and was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital.

The vehicle sustained front-end damage, including a damaged windshield, bumper and detached siren lights.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
