By Belize Live News Staff: A ruptured industrial butane tank at HL’s Burger Stall led to a tense situation on Princess Margaret Drive on Monday.
The gas leak forced the evacuation of Belize Elementary and Belize High School as a precautionary measure. Though school was on break, the sudden evacuation caused alarm among students and parents.
Emergency responders quickly contained the situation, and no injuries or structural damage were reported.
BWEL declined to comment further, stating only that the matter was under control.
