Motorcyclist injured after plunging into deep drain

By  Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a road traffic accident that left a motorcyclist injured after he lost control of his scooter and plunged into a deep drain on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the accident occurred around 5:00 p.m. on January 25, 2026, along Blackwater Creek Street. The male rider was operating a black 110cc Lifan scooter when he reportedly lost control upon reaching the corner of Blackwater Creek Street and San Lorenzo Road.

The motorcycle veered off the roadway and fell into a drain approximately six to seven feet deep, causing the rider to suffer a large laceration to the head.

The injured motorcyclist was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital for medical treatment. Police and Scenes of Crime personnel responded to the area and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The name of the injured rider has not been released.
