Ex-girlfriend accused in brutal stabbing on Central American Boulevard

By  Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating an attempted murder following a violent stabbing incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, January 18, 2026, on Central American Boulevard in Belize City.

According to police reports, at approximately 12:40 a.m., officers responded to information received from the Belize Police Control Room regarding a female who had been stabbed at #65 Central American Boulevard and was being transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for medical treatment.

Upon arrival at the Accident and Emergency section of KHMH, Crimes Investigation Branch (CIB) personnel observed a dark-skinned female lying face up on a hospital bed, unconscious and suffering from multiple cut and stab wounds. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Samira Gentle, a Belizean laborer of North Creek, Belize City. She is currently listed in critical condition.

Initial investigations revealed that around 12:00 a.m., Gentle was socializing and consuming alcohol at the residence of her ex-girlfriend, Prunella White, when an argument ensued between the two women. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, during which White allegedly grabbed a knife and a machete and inflicted several stab and cut wounds to Gentle’s body.

The matter remains under investigation by police.
