By Belize Live News Staff: A mediation meeting was held in Trial Farm Village after a mother sought police assistance regarding her son’s repeated misbehavior.
Police report that the parent raised concerns about her teenage son’s actions at home and at school, including allegations of theft. In response, officers arranged a mediation session involving both mother and child.
During the meeting, police addressed the teen’s conduct and spoke to him about the consequences of continued negative behavior. He was also encouraged to value his education and make better choices moving forward.
As part of the intervention, police indicated that the teen’s case will be referred to the Human Development diversion program for continued support and mentorship.
Police say the mother was satisfied with the steps taken and the guidance provided, noting that the goal of the intervention was to correct behavior before it escalates into criminal activity.
