By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a traffic incident that left a 12-year-old boy injured following a collision between a motorcycle and a bicycle.
According to police, the incident occurred on Cinderella Street, Orange Walk when a motorcycle travelling toward Progress Street collided with a bicycle coming from the opposite direction. Investigations revealed that the bicycle reportedly emerged from behind a parked vehicle and turned into Dunn Street, resulting in the collision.
The rider of the motorcycle told police that he was unable to avoid the impact. The boy fell to the ground and sustained a small open wound to his right knee. No other injuries were observed.
Police say the injured child was taken to his residence, where his mother was informed of the incident. He was later transported to the Northern Regional Hospital, where medical forms were issued. Both parties were advised to make a formal report at the police station.
