By Belize Live News Staff: An early morning New Year’s Day celebration in Trial Farm Village reportedly ended in violence, prompting a police investigation.

According to a report made at the Trial Farm Police Sub-Station, a 27-year-old man was injured during an altercation that occurred around 1:00 a.m. at his residence on Bottom Lagoon Street. The complainant stated that he was hosting a family gathering when a dispute erupted involving relatives.

He told police that as he attempted to stop a fight between family members, another man arrived and struck him on the nose with a stone, causing pain and bleeding.
