OW thieves tunnel through cement wall, steal 45k in cash and electronics from Pletts Electronics

By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Orange Walk Town are investigating a burglary reported early this morning at Pletts Electronics, located at the corner of Cinderella Street and Queen Victoria Avenue.

According to police, information was received around 2:54 a.m. indicating that a burglary was in progress at the establishment. Officers immediately responded and conducted a search of the surrounding area.

Upon arrival, police discovered a small hole broken through a cement wall on the side of the building facing the Adventist Church. The opening provided access into the warehouse section of the business. No suspects were seen in the area at the time of the response.

Initial reports indicate that approximately forty five thousand dollars in cash, along with several high end cellular phones and other electronic devices, were stolen during the burglary.

The scene was processed by police, and the matter has since been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Branch for further investigation.
