By Belize Live News Staff: Police are pursuing investigations into a burglary at a construction site along the Philip Goldson Highway, where electronic equipment and cash were stolen during the Christmas holiday period.
Police say the burglary occurred at an elevated wooden structure used at the construction site and was discovered on Monday morning. Investigators determined that the building was forcibly entered after the front door lock was pried open.
Among the items reported stolen were a yellow iPad valued at eight hundred dollars Belize currency and cash amounting to three hundred and forty-three dollars Belize currency. The stolen property belongs to Arguelles Architects Design and Construction.
Although the site was reportedly under security by a private security company, the burglary went undetected until Monday morning.
Scenes of Crime personnel processed the area and lifted fingerprints as part of ongoing investigations. No arrests have been made at this time, and police are continuing enquiries.
