Christmas collision leads to multiple charges for local drivers; court date set for January

By Belize Live News Staff: The legal fallout from a Christmas evening traffic accident continues as police formally arrested and charged two men on Friday morning. The incident, which involved a Ford F-150 and a Toyota Sienna, resulted in a series of traffic and criminal offenses.

Adriel Novelo was slapped with four charges, including Negligent Harm and driving under the influence of drinks or drugs. Investigations revealed Novelo was also operating the vehicle without a valid Belizean driver’s license at the time of the impact.

Meanwhile, Giordanni Garcia, the driver of the second vehicle, faces charges for failing to provide a specimen to authorities, along with operating a vehicle that was both unlicensed and unregistered.

Following the formal procedures, both men were granted bail in the amount of $750. They are expected to answer to these charges in court during the first week of the new year.
