By Belize Live News Staff: A traffic accident at the Southern Regional Hospital compound on Sunday, December 7, 2025, resulted in one driver being issued a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP). The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. and involved a collision between a parked pickup truck and a reversing car.
Police say that upon arrival, officers found a white 2023 Toyota Hilux, license plate C4B-3714, with minor damage to the rear portion. Nearby, approximately one yard away, was a silver 2009 Chevrolet car, license plate BCC-52386, which had sustained damage to its front end. The Chevrolet was being driven by Rhoan K. Williams, 34, a Belizean of #40 Pine Street, Dangriga Town.
According to investigators, the Toyota Hilux had been properly parked in the hospital parking lot. Williams, while attempting to reverse the Chevrolet, reportedly accelerated forward instead, causing the car to crash into the rear of the parked Hilux. No injuries were reported.
Statements were recorded from those involved, and officers confirmed that all documents for both vehicles were valid and up to date. Williams was subsequently issued an NIP in connection with the collision.
