By Belize Live News Staff: A domestic supervisor working at the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk has reported damage to her property after an altercation involving her ex–common-law husband. The confrontation occurred on December 1, 2025, inside the hospital’s laundry area where she was on duty.
The woman told police that her ex-partner arrived unexpectedly and handed her $60 as repayment for electrical wires he had damaged previously. According to the report, he then asked to borrow her phone to make a call. After ending the call, he allegedly began scrolling through her messages without permission. The complainant said he suddenly became angry, hurled insults at her, and accused her of inappropriate behavior.
The situation escalated when he grabbed her by her blue uniform shirt—valued at $150—and pulled her forcefully, causing the shirt to tear down the front. Startled and frightened, the woman asked a nearby coworker to call the police. At that point, the man reportedly released her and fled the building before officers arrived.
Police took her formal statement and documented the damage to her uniform. The suspect has since been listed as wanted for questioning in connection with damage to property and other possible offenses relating to the confrontation.
Hospital staff, meanwhile, expressed concern that such an incident occurred inside a public medical facility, raising questions about visitor access and workplace safety. The victim is cooperating fully with investigators as police continue the search for the suspect.
Authorities are urging him to turn himself in so the matter can proceed through the proper channels.
