By Belize Live News Staff: Police have launched a homicide investigation after Eric Reyes was shot and killed late last night on Park Street in Belize City. The sound of multiple gunshots drew residents out of their homes, where they discovered Reyes lying motionless on the roadside.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident, but Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers immediately secured the area, processed the location, and transported the body to the morgue pending a post-mortem examination.
Investigators say the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. At this time, no suspects have been identified and a motive has not yet been established. Police are reviewing available information and urging anyone who may have witnessed or heard anything to come forward.
The investigation is ongoing.
