By Belize Live News Staff: An Orange Walk man has been formally charged after police say he was found operating a motorcycle without any valid documentation, including expired insurance and an expired license sticker. The incident took place on December 1, 2025, during routine patrols along the Belize–Corozal Road.
According to police, officers saw the man return to a red-and-black motorcycle parked beside Aaron’s Supermarket and approached him for a routine check. When asked to provide the motorcycle’s documentation, he reportedly had none. The motorcycle itself displayed no license plate, no insurance tag, and no current license sticker.
Police verified his identity through a driver’s license and informed him he was being arrested for driving a motor vehicle not covered by third-party risk insurance and driving an unlicensed motorcycle. He was cautioned, informed of his constitutional rights, and transported to the Orange Walk Police Station. The motorcycle was impounded.
At the station, the man signed the required rights acknowledgment form voluntarily. Officers later obtained copies of the expired insurance (which lapsed on June 4, 2025) and the expired license sticker (last valid in May 2025). The motorcycle’s registration information was also collected.
He was officially charged and granted police bail of $300. He is scheduled to appear at the Orange Walk Magistrate Court on December 3, 2025, to answer the charges.
