Explora II makes debut arrival as Belize celebrates newest cruise partner

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City’s port welcomed a new addition to the cruise circuit on Monday as the Explora II completed its first official call to the country. The milestone was highlighted by a formal plaque exchange ceremony held on board with Captain Serena Melani, symbolizing the start of a new relationship between the vessel and Belize’s tourism sector.

Several agencies participated in welcoming the ship, including the Belize Tourism Board, Health Ministry, Immigration Department, Fort Street Tourism Village, the Belize Port Authority, and Caribbean Shipping Agencies Ltd. Officials expressed enthusiasm about the vessel’s arrival, noting its potential to enhance the visitor experience and boost economic activity for coastal communities.

The visit forms part of Belize’s wider efforts to strengthen its presence in the regional cruise market.
