By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Orange Walk responded to a sudden death report on November 29, 2025, where they discovered the body of an elderly man inside a concrete structure on Honey Camp Street in Trial Farm Village. The man, aged 83, was found lying face-up and covered with a grey blanket when officers entered the residence.
A young resident at the home told police she last saw him alive around 10:00 p.m. the night before. She also informed investigators that he had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a long-term condition affecting the lungs.
Police confirmed the man’s identity via Social Security documents and conducted an assessment of the scene. No signs of injury or foul play were observed, and the residence showed no sign of forced entry or disturbance.
A doctor later arrived and officially pronounced him dead at 12:23 p.m. The cause of death was certified as complications related to COPD, and a medical certificate was issued. Police classified the case as a natural death but completed standard documentation.
Neighbors said the elderly man was well-known in the community and lived a quiet routine.
Authorities remind families to ensure regular medical check-ups for elderly relatives, especially those with chronic health conditions. The case has been closed pending any new information.
