By Belize Live News Staff: A Trial Farm resident is expected to face charges after police say he obstructed officers during an anti-crime operation in Orange Walk. The incident occurred on the night of November 28, 2025, when police were conducting mobile patrols in the Progress Street area as part of ongoing efforts to target criminal activity.
Authorities report that the patrol team encountered three men standing along the roadside. Officers approached the group and requested a routine stop-and-search, along with the individuals’ personal details. While two members of the group cooperated, the third reportedly became hostile, shouting obscenities at the officers before attempting to run.
He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
At the police station, his identity was confirmed as 24-year-old Darnell Stephan Valentine of Trial Farm Village. Police say his constitutional rights were explained to him through the required acknowledgment process, which he signed voluntarily.
Valentine remains detained as police finalize charges for Obstructing a Police Officer.
