Wanted Bullet Tree man reportedly detained in Guatemala during regional police search

By Belize Live News Staff: A man wanted in connection with a major police investigation in Bullet Tree Falls has reportedly been detained in Guatemala, according to information reaching BLN.

Twenty-five-year-old Gian “Dragon” Waight, who Crime Stoppers Belize has officially listed as wanted for questioning, allegedly fled the village shortly after a violent incident that shocked the Cayo community. Belizean officials had been searching for him, issuing a public alert urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 922 or via the P3 App.

Guatemalan police reportedly detained Waight after he crossed the border, though Belizean officials have not yet released formal confirmation. Cross-border communication between Belize and Guatemala is now underway as part of the ongoing investigation.

Waight is not yet charged with any offense but is considered a key person of interest as investigators work to piece together the events surrounding the case.

Police continue to advise the public not to approach Waight and to allow law enforcement to handle the matter.

This is a developing story. BLN will continue to follow this cross-border case and provide updates as soon as more details are confirmed.
