By Belize Live News Staff: A Belize City hotspot is clarifying details after social media posts suggested a shooting took place “near Social Lounge.” In a statement issued Saturday, Social Lounge said the incident being referenced did not happen on their property, nor did it involve any of their patrons or staff.
Management explained that the sounds of gunfire came from the Northern Highway, roughly 150 yards away, and that the venue remained entirely unaffected.
They added that staff acted swiftly by contacting authorities upon hearing the noise—an action they say demonstrates the strong safety protocols in place.
The release emphasized that Social Lounge continues to operate in one of Belize City’s most secure areas, supported by ongoing police patrols and private security.
The business encouraged the public not to be misled by inaccurate reports and reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.
